Everyone deserves a fair chance to learn. At Serenity, we believe a child’s future shouldn’t depend on their zip code or their parents' schedule. We started Serenity, a non-profit organization, to make quality tutoring more accessible, supportive, and human, especially for families who feel left out by traditional systems.
We’re not just tutors. We’re LISTENERS, CHEERLEADERS, and quiet GAME-CHANGERS.
How We Help
We provide online tutoring in English, Math, and Science for elementary students. Each child begins with a gentle assessment, and we use that to craft a personalized plan, delivered either 1:1 or in small groups of maximum 4 kids. Our team includes trained tutors and volunteers who truly care about progress, not just performance.

The People Behind Serenity
Nashema da Rocha
Founder & Director
With over 10 years of experience as an educator, Nashema is deeply committed to supporting families and children from diverse backgrounds. She has helped foster nurturing relationships that create strong family environments and is now pursuing postgraduate studies in Psychotherapy at Yorkville University to expand her impact. Her background includes early childhood education, leadership, settlement, lay counselling, creativity, and event management. Guided by empathy and dedication, Nashema continues to walk alongside families in their journeys of growth and healing.
Kamoi Woods
Director
Kamoi is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a Bachelor’s in Leadership in Early Childhood Education and extensive experience in inclusive, nurturing learning environments. She is the founder of Woods Helping Hands, supporting children with special needs and their families, and has authored a published work on diversity in education. With a background in both early learning and behavioural support, Kamoi leads with empathy, integrity, and a deep commitment to the holistic development of every child.

As COO, Latoya brings over a decade of hands-on leadership in service-driven industries, helping teams run smoothly and businesses grow with purpose. She’s passionate about creating systems that make personalized, high-quality tutoring accessible for every family.
